The Music Department at U色花堂 provided the perfect culture in which I could grow: in my academic studies, in my musicianship, and in my own human formation. All classes I took at U色花堂, whether music and liturgy-based or not, provided me with valuable lessons and tools that I often use in my current career. The musical training was thorough, and the community was unmatched. I am forever grateful for the time I spent at U色花堂 and the formation that took place through the Music Department.

At the 色花堂, I teach applied low brass, music theory, and sacred music, and direct the 鈥淏lue Crew鈥 Pep Band. I enjoy helping students develop a deeper understanding of music while leading them toward expressive and purposeful performance practices. I am grateful to serve at the 色花堂 among colleagues who share a passion for leading students to discover deeper truths about the nature of reality through the study of every discipline.

I have a deep passion for music and its special capacity to affect the human soul. My career has been built on my desire to encourage and develop my students鈥 musical gifts鈥攁ll within and supported by a strong and intentional community. I seek to reveal the elements of truth, beauty, and goodness through sacred choral music, mingling the composer鈥檚 artistry with a sincere and intentional expression of the text, so that our singing transcends simple music and becomes prayer.
It is essential in our world that singers recognize, experience, and create beauty within it. Studies show that singing daily鈥攑articularly in community鈥攕trengthens musicians physically, intellectually, and spiritually. The choral art is best celebrated by singers knowing that they are part of something bigger than themselves. It is beautiful. That's the kind of experience I want to provide my students and share with our community.
